The stable upper pattern, combined with a firm ridge along the east coast,
will maintain fine and mostly sunny conditions for majority of the state.

thunderstorms near the Gulf of Carpentaria coast, tending more scattered over
the northern Peninsula and Torres Strait. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are
may also develop over the far southwest during the afternoon, but little
rainfall is expected. Remaining hot over western districts.

and mostly sunny conditions across the state. Isolated showers continuing about
eastern districts tending to scattered in parts of the North Tropical Coast.
Showers are also likely to become more scattered over the southeast with the
assistance of an upper level trough, and isolated showers are likely to
penetrate further inland to the eastern Darling Downs and south Burnett.

over the far southwest. Showers and thunderstorms becoming more scattered over
the far northern Peninsula and Torres Strait as a weak monsoon trough develops
over the Arafura Sea and Papua New Guinea. Hot again over western districts.

The firm ridge is expected to persist along the east coast, maintaining fine
and mostly sunny conditions across the state. Isolated showers continuing about
eastern districts, more scattered about the southeast, and also about the
northeast tropics. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over northwest parts of
the state, tending scattered with the possibility of some rain areas developing
over the far north and Torres Strait. Hot over the western districts.
Outlook for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
The ridge along the east coast is likely to weaken on Tuesday, with showers
along the east coast becoming more isolated along the southern coast. A surface
trough will move over southern Queensland on Wednesday, with very hot conditions
spreading eastwards to the southeast coast. It is likely to be too dry ahead of
this system to support any significant shower or thunderstorm activity, although
a few showers may return to the east coast on Thursday as a new ridge develops
along the coast. In the tropics, the monsoon trough is likely to remain in the
Torres Strait area, leading to showers, thunderstorms and rain areas over the
northern Peninsula and Torres Strait.
Remaining fine and mainly sunny across most of the rest of the rest of the
state. Isolated showers and thunderstorms about the Gulf of Carpentaria
coast.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:10 pm EST
Friday.
