Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 2/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough weakens over inland north while a high develops in the Tasman with an associated ridge strengthening along the NSW coast. The high is expected to move slowly over the Tasman Sea while showers are possible over northeastern NSW in an onshore airstream through of the early next week. A slow moving inland trough is likely to form in the far west by the weekend, but it is not expected to trigger any shower activity due to overall dryness of the airmass. At the same time, temperatures will rise within stagnant airmass over the Interior with a spell of hot temperatures expected in the west.

East to southeasterly winds. tending northeasterly on the south and central coasts.Friday 4 JanuaryThe chance of showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds.Saturday 5 JanuaryThe chance of showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges, more likely in the northeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to southeast winds.Sunday 6 JanuaryIsolated showers along most of the coast, becoming scattered on the north coast and extending to the adjacent ranges. Fine elsewhere.
