Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 2/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak trough stretches from the northwest of the state through to central parts of the coast, with another associated trough moving up the north coast. The main trough is expected to move to northeastern New South Wales during by tonight as a high develops in the Tasman and associated ridge strengthens along the NSW coast. The high is expected to move slowly over the Tasman Sea while showers are possible over northeastern NSW in an onshore airstream through of the end of the week. A slow moving inland trough is likely to form in the far west by the weekend, but it is not expected to trigger any significant shower activity due to overall dryness of the airmass.

Northwest to northeast winds.Saturday 5 JanuaryThe chance of showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges, more likely in the northeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to southeast winds.Sunday 6 JanuaryIsolated showers along most of the coast, becoming scattered on the north coast and extending to the adjacent ranges. Fine elsewhere.
