Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 1/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front crossed southern Victoria overnight and will move across the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A high pressure system south of Adelaide will move eastwards across southern Victoria on Wednesday then over the Tasman Sea on Thursday and Friday. A trough of low pressure will cross the Bight on Thursday then enter the southwest of Victoria on Friday afternoon, moving to central districts at night then weakening over the east early Saturday. The next high pressure system will develop west of Tasmania on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated light showers in the south clearing eastwards during the morning. Fine over the north. Cool to mild in the south with morning cloud clearing, but warm to hot and sunny over the north with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Fire Danger -  High to very high.Thursday 3 JanuaryFine and sunny throughout. Generally hot with light winds tending light to moderate northerly. Milder seabreezes over the Gippsland coast.Friday 4 JanuaryHot and mainly sunny at first with moderate to fresh northerly winds. A milder west to southwesterly change entering the southwest in the afternoon, reaching the northwest and central districts at night.Saturday 5 JanuaryHot and sunny inland with light to moderate southerly winds. Milder and partly cloudy near the coast with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Wednesday.Product IDV10310
