Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 1/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high centred near New Zealand extends a ridge over NSW North Coast while a weak trough stretches from the northwest of the state through to central parts of the coast. The trough is expected to move to northeastern New South Wales during Wednesday as a high develops in the Tasman and associated ridge strengthens along NSW coast. The high is expected to become slow moving over the Tasman Sea while showers may increase over northeastern NSW in onshore airstream by the end of the week. A slow moving inland trough is likely to form in the far west by the weekend, but its is not expected to trigger any significant shower activity due to overall dryness of the airmass.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated drizzle patches along the southern and central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges, clearing by early afternoon. The chance of afternoon showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Sunny elsewhere. Locally hot in the northern inland. Southwest to southeast winds.Fire Danger -  Severe in Northwestern. Very High in southwestern, central and northeastern parts.Thursday 3 JanuaryThe chance of showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges, more likely in the far northeast. Mostly sunny in the remainder. East to southeasterly winds. tending northeasterly on the south and central coasts.Friday 4 JanuaryThe chance of showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges, more likely in the far northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds.Saturday 5 JanuaryThe chance of showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges, more likely in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
