Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 31/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of South Australia is expected to move slowly eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea on Thursday. A weak trough will move across the State on Friday before another high builds over the Bight on Saturday then moves southeast later in the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine apart from possible light morning showers about the Lower South East coast and the chance of isolated thundery showers developing over the far northeast during the afternoon. Mild to warm about southern coasts, grading to hot to very hot in the north and west. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon sea breezes.Wednesday 2 JanuaryFine. Warm about southern coasts, hot to very hot inland and about western coasts. Moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and moderate to fresh afternoon sea breezes.Thursday 3 JanuaryDry and very hot with light to moderate northeasterly winds and weak afternoon sea breezes. Northerly winds freshening in the west ahead of a milder, fresh and gusty southerly change in the far west during the evening.Friday 4 JanuaryDry and very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder, fresh and gusty southerly change extending across western districts in the morning and central and eastern districts in the afternoon and evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday until midnight Friday are expected to be negligible.Saturday until MondayRemaining dry with moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds over the weekend. Hot to very hot in the north, warm to hot in the south, becoming hot to very hot throughout with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds later in the outlook period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
