Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over northeastern New South Wales is contracting further northeast as a cold front crosses the southern Tasman Sea and a high pressure system moves towards Tasmania extending a ridge across the west and southeast of the state behind the front. During Sunday the high will move over the Tasman Seas strengthening the ridge to the north coast and the trough will move west and weaken. The next front/trough system is expected to move through the state during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southerly change moving through western, southern and central districts.Saturday 29 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeasterly winds extending throughout.Fire Danger -  Very High in most of the western and central districts.Sunday 30 DecemberIsolated showers coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of showers and thunderstorms on the northwest slopes and plains. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeast winds.Monday 31 DecemberThe chance of showers on the far north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Tuesday 1 JanuaryPartly cloudy.
