Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the Bight is expected to remain near stationary through to Tuesday, as a series of fronts move through Tasmania. Forecast for the rest of FridayFine. Mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds and fresh to strong afternoon and early evening sea breezes.Saturday 29 DecemberFine apart from possible light showers about southern parts of the Lower South East Coast in the morning. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate southeasterly winds and fresh to strong afternoon sea breezes.Sunday 30 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north and west. Moderate southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon sea breezes.Monday 31 DecemberFine. Mild to warm about southern coasts, grading to hot to very hot in the north and west. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon sea breezes.Tuesday 1 JanuaryFine apart from possible light early morning showers in the south of the Lower South East district. Mild about southern coasts, grading to hot to very hot in the north and west. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon sea breezes. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be less that 1 mm about the Lower South East coast, and nil elsewhere.Wednesday until FridayContinuing dry. Warm to hot over the agricultural area on Wednesday, and very hot over the remainder.
