Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 27/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough just east of Victoria will move steadily eastwards over the Tasman Sea on Friday. A high pressure system over Bight waters will remain slow moving until Saturday, allowing a weak cold front to cross Tasmania. The high will approach western Victoria during Sunday, extending a ridge through Bass Strait then on Monday the ridge will weaken as a stronger cold front moves northeastwards from the Southern Ocean towards Tasmania.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated light showers in southern areas clearing by early afternoon. Fine and mainly sunny over the north. Cool to mild in the south but warmer in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds.Fire Danger -  Generally high to very high.Saturday 29 DecemberFine apart from isolated morning showers near the coast. Cool to mild in the south but warm over the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Sunday 30 DecemberFine apart from isolated morning showers near the coast. Cool to mild in the south but warm over the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Monday 31 DecemberFine apart from isolated morning showers near the coast.
