Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 27/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over western and southern New South Wales will contract to the northeast during Friday as a cold front crosses the southern Tasman Sea and a high pressure system moves towards Tasmania extending a ridge across the west and southeast of the state behind the front. During Sunday the high will move over the Tasman Seas strengthening the ridge to the north coast and the trough is expected to move west and weaken.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, mostly inland. The chance of showers or thunderstorms on the south coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southerly change moving through western, southern and central districts.Fire Danger -  Very High in the southeast.Saturday 29 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeasterly winds extending throughout.Sunday 30 DecemberIsolated showers coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of showers and thunderstorms on the northwest slopes and plains. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeast winds.Monday 31 DecemberThe chance of showers in the northeast.
