Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 27/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak trough is expected to cross the far south of the state on Thursday evening ahead of a high pressure system, which will become established south of the Bight on Friday. This high is expected to remain near stationary through to Monday, as a series of fronts move through Tasmania.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine apart from a possible late evening shower about the Lower South East coast. Mild to warm about the coasts, hot inland. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon and early evening sea breezes.Friday 28 DecemberFine apart from possible light morning showers about southern Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East coast. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds and fresh to strong afternoon and early evening sea breezes.Saturday 29 DecemberFine apart from possible light showers about southern parts of the Lower South East Coast in the morning. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon sea breezes.Sunday 30 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north and west. Moderate southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon sea breezes.Monday 31 DecemberFine. Mild to warm about southern coasts, grading to hot to very hot in the north and west. Moderate south to southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon sea breezes. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be less that 1 mm about southern Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East coast, and nil elsewhere.Tuesday until ThursdayContinuing dry. Becoming hot to very hot throughout with winds turning northeast to northerly, ahead of a south to southeasterly wind change in the west later Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
