Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 26/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over northeastern New South Wales is moving further northeast as a high pressure system near Tasmania extends a ridge along the south and central coasts. Later today or early Thursday the high will move over the southern Tasman Sea strengthening the ridge to the north coast and the trough will move west. The weak trough is expected to remain across the north of the state over the next few days.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 27 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northern inland and the chance of showers on the north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northeast winds ahead of a late southerly change in the southwest.Friday 28 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the north, mostly in the northeastern inland. The chance of showers or thunderstorms on the south coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southerly change moving through western, southern and central districts.Saturday 29 DecemberIsolated showers coast and adjacent ranges, possibly extending the northwest slopes. The chance of thunderstorms on the north coast and ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeasterly winds extending throughout.Sunday 30 DecemberIsolated showers coast and adjacent ranges, possibly extending the northwest slopes and plains.
