MELBOURNE - Dec 24/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough and gusty southerly change between the Central Coast and northwestern New South Wales early this morning will move into the northeast during today. Very warm to hot and humid conditions, and thunderstorms, are expected ahead of this feature. A new high will move across the Tasman Sea Wednesday and Thursday and extend a ridge over coastal NSW as a trough deepens in the west. The trough will move east during Friday with more thunderstorm activity likely. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine and mostly sunny in the southwest. Isolated showers and/or thunderstorms elsewhere, more widespread and possibly severe about the northeast and on the central ranges in the afternoon. Cooler southwest to southerly winds extending into the northeast, gusty along the coast.Fire Danger - Very High: Northern and Southern Riverina.Wednesday 26 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers along the remainder of the coast, clearing in the south. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 27 DecemberIsolated showers in the north and possible thunderstorms in the northwest, Partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northeast winds ahead of a late southerly change in the southwest.Friday 28 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the east.
