Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough near Whyalla to Adelaide will continue to move eastwards, reaching the eastern border around midnight. The trough will move slowly over the far northeast of the State on Monday and Tuesday as a new high pressure system tracks across the Bight. Another weak trough is expected to cross southern parts of the State on Thursday as a stronger high pressure system becomes established over the Bight on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayA dry and warm evening with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder, moderate to fresh and gusty southwest to southerly change extending across central and eastern districts during the late afternoon and evening. Partly cloud in the south and west.Monday 24 DecemberAreas of cloud with possible isolated showers developing south of about Port Lincoln to Adelaide to Keith. The chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast. Mild about southern coasts, grading to very hot in the northeast. Northerly winds over the Northeast Pastoral, ahead of a gusty southerly change extending northwards. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds over the remainder of the State.Tuesday 25 DecemberThe chance of an early light shower near southern coasts. Possible showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 26 DecemberFine and warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to easterly winds. Fresh afternoon sea breezes.Thursday 27 DecemberFine, mild to warm about the coasts, hot inland.Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday until midnight Thursday are expected to be less than 2 mm, possibly reaching 5 mm with thunderstorms in the far northeast corner.Friday until SundayPossible light showers about the coasts on Friday morning. Fine throughout on Saturday and Sunday. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.
