Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over western New South Wales is weakening as a high pressure system over the the southern Tasman Sea strengthens a ridge to the northwest. During Monday and Tuesday another trough will move across the west and southeast of the state and then it will stall over the northeast on Wednesday. This trough is expected to deepen during Thursday and and extend south.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the eastern and central parts. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds. Dangerous Surf Conditions along the coast.Monday 24 DecemberThe chance of showers or thunderstorms in most districts, more likely in the east later in the day. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot to northerly winds ahead of a late, cooler southerly change in the south.Fire Danger -  Severe in Riverina. Locally Very High in the southeast.Tuesday 25 DecemberPartly cloudy in the southwest. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms elsewhere, more frequent about the northeast and central ranges in the afternoon. Cooler southerly winds extending throughout.Wednesday 26 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast and isolated showers on the south and central coasts, Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 27 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, Partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northeast winds ahead of a late southerly change in the southwest.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Monday.Product IDN10031
