Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 21/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will cross Bass Strait today and will be centred over the Tasman Sea on Saturday. A low pressure trough will be over the Bight on Saturday but will enter western Victoria on Sunday before extending to eastern Victoria during Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine. Mild in the south with areas of cloud clearing during the morning. Warm and sunny over the north. Light to moderate southerly winds, freshening about the coast during the afternoon.Fire Danger -  Moderate to High.Saturday 22 DecemberFine. Warm to hot and mostly sunny inland with light winds. Milder seabreezes developing along the coastal fringe and freshening during the afternoon.Sunday 23 DecemberMostly fine and hot. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing over the far northeast during the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers developing in the southwest later. A fresh gusty northerly wind ahead of a cooler west to southwesterly change in the west during the afternoon and evening.Monday 24 DecemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the east. Isolated showers in the southwest. Mostly fine over the northwest with just the chance of isolated showers. Warm to hot in the north and east at first with a moderate to fresh northerly wind but a cooler southwesterly change slowly extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Friday.Product IDV10310
