Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 21/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front and associated trough are expected to weaken and stall over the northeast NSW during Friday. Behind this trough, a high pressure system moving south of the Bight is expected to pass over the south of the state on Friday, reaching the Tasman Sea by Saturday. This will then direct hotter northerly winds across the region, before the next cool change arrives early in the new week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms from the northern inland through to the northern coast, becoming scattered in the northeast during the afternoon. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds. Dangerous Surf Conditions along the coast.Saturday 22 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms from the northern and central inland through to the coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds. Dangerous Surf Conditions along the coast.Sunday 23 DecemberThe chance of showers over the east of the state and the northern inland. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Very warm to hot northeast to northwesterly winds. Dangerous Surf Conditions along the coast.Monday 24 DecemberIsolated showers developing across the southern border districts, with possible thunderstorms about the southern tablelands. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot to very hot northeast to northwesterly winds.
