Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 21/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high to the south of the State will move slowly eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea by this evening. A low pressure trough will develop near the western border late Saturday evening and extend across the west and south of the State on Sunday, reaching the far northeast of the State during Monday. Another high will develop southwest of the Bight on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine and mostly sunny. Mild about the coast, grading to hot in the north. Moderate south to southeast winds.Saturday 22 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Warm to hot in the south, grading to hot to very hot in the north and west. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, shifting fresh southerly in the far west towards midnight.Sunday 23 DecemberHot to very hot initially with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds. Cloud increasing in the south during the day with the chance of isolated showers over southern coastal areas later in the day following a milder southerly change moving over the agricultural and western areas during the day. Isolated showers and thunderstorms may develop about the northeast corner during the afternoon.Monday 24 DecemberIsolated showers over the agricultural area and western districts. The chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast. Mild about southern coasts, grading to very hot in the northeast. Northerly winds over the Northeast Pastoral , ahead of a gusty southerly change extending northwards. Fresh southerly winds over the remainder of the State. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning until midnight Monday are expected to be less than 1 to 2 mm.Tuesday until ThursdayThe chance of an early shower near southern coasts, clearing early Tuesday. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast contracting northwards and clearing by Wednesday. Possible isolated showers developing in the west and south on Thursday. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, tending southeast to northeasterly on Wednesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
