MELBOURNE - Dec 18/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough lies over northeastern New South Wales. The trough will weaken during Tuesday and Wednesday as a high pressure system moves over the southern Tasman Sea extending a ridge to the north coast. Another trough will move through west and and southeast of the state on Thursday, then it will stall over the northeast on Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers along the northern coast and adjacent ranges with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Mostly sunny elsewhere. East to southeasterly winds along the coast, south to southwesterly winds inland.Wednesday 19 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Possible showers in the far southwest. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot day in the west. Northeast to northwesterly winds.Fire Danger - Very High in Southern Riverina, Southern Ranges Northern Slopes and Northwestern.Thursday 20 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast tending scattered in the far northeast. Isolated clearing showers in the southern inland. The chance of showers or thunderstorms on the south coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
