Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 15/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will move across Bass Strait early on Sunday as the next high pressure system develops over Bight waters. A ridge of high pressure will extend across southern Victoria on Monday and Tuesday. A low pressure trough will enter the State from the west on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the east, tending to rain areas and scattered thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers in the south but fine over the northwest. Cooler west to southwesterly wind extending to most areas.Sunday 16 DecemberIsolated showers over southern and mountain areas mostly clearing later in the day. Fine over the northern plains. Cool to mild with moderate southerly winds.Fire Danger -  High in the north.Monday 17 DecemberIsolated showers near the coast and in the far east, otherwise fine. A cool partly cloudy day in the south but milder and mainly sunny in the north. Moderate southwest to southerly winds.Tuesday 18 DecemberFine. A cool to mild and mostly sunny day with light to moderate south to southeast winds.Wednesday 19 DecemberFine at first but isolated showers developing in the west later. A warm to hot day with a freshening northerly wind ahead of a cooler west to southwesterly change in the west during the afternoon and evening.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
