Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure is moving eastwards over the Northeast Pastoral district. A more significant change will move across most of the State during Saturday. A high will develop over the Bight on Sunday and then move slowly eastwards.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine in the far northeast. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scattered at times. Isolated thunderstorms north of about Adelaide. Mild about southern coasts, grading to very hot in the north of the Northeast Pastoral. Moderate to fresh northeast to northwest winds over the Northeast Pastoral, with mainly light to moderate southwest to southeast winds elsewhere, extending northeastwards in the late afternoon or evening.Saturday 15 DecemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far west clearing during the morning. Early drizzle on the Mount Lofty Ranges. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area. Mild about southern coasts, grading to very hot in the far northeast. Light to moderate northerly winds in the east, light to moderate southwest winds elsewhere, freshening during the afternoon and extending to the far northeast corner by late evening.Sunday 16 DecemberIsolated showers over the agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts in the afternoon and clearing in the evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast, clearing during the afternoon. Cool in the south grading to hot in the far northeast with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Monday 17 DecemberFine apart from possible isolated light morning showers about the Lower South East coast. Cool in the south grading to hot in the far northeast with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh near the coasts in the afternoon.Tuesday 18 DecemberPossible isolated showers in the far west. Mild to warn grading to hot in the north with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be generally 2 to 5 mm, with local falls up to 20 mm with thunderstorms.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the far northeast, clearing later on Thursday. Isolated showers over the west coast and agricultural area, clearing later on Thursday. Fine Friday. Warm to hot with northwest winds, ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending throughout early in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
