Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over the agricultural area will gradually extend northeastwards into the Northeast Pastoral by Friday evening. A more significant change will move across the State during Saturday. A high will develop over the Bight on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers possible over most districts, except the far northeast. Isolated thunderstorms over the Pastoral districts west of Leigh Creek and about the Flinders, Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands and Upper South East districts. Hot to very hot with light to moderate northerly winds, tending milder moderate to fresh southerly across the south and west.Friday 14 DecemberFine in the far northeast. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scattered at times. Isolated thunderstorms north of about Adelaide. Mild about southern coasts, grading to very hot in the Northeast Pastoral. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds northeast of about Marla to Lameroo. Mainly light to moderate southwest to southeast winds elsewhere, with a fresh and gusty southwest change extending across the south and west of the Northeast Pastoral during the late afternoon and evening.Saturday 15 DecemberIsolated showers, scattered over Northeast Pastoral. Isolated thunderstorms north of about Keith to Tarcoola, contracting northeastwards during the day. Mild about southern coasts, grading to very hot in the far northeast. Light to moderate northerly winds in the east, light to moderate southwest winds elsewhere, freshening during the afternoon and extending to the far northeast corner by late evening.Sunday 16 DecemberIsolated showers over the agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts in the afternoon and clearing in the evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast, clearing during the afternoon. Cool in the south grading to hot in the far northeast with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday until midnight Sunday are expected to be generally 1 to 5 mm, although falls of 5 to 15 mm are possible with thunderstorms.Monday 17 DecemberFine apart from possible isolated light morning showers about the Lower South East coast. Cool in the south grading to hot in the far northeast with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh near the coasts in the afternoon. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be generally 2 to 10 mm, with local falls up to 20 mm with thunderstorms.Tuesday until ThursdayPossible isolated showers in the far west Tuesday. Isolated showers extending across the west coast and agricultural area on Wednesday, contracting to southern coasts later on Thursday. Warm to hot with northwest winds, ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
