Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 10/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge extends from south of the Bight to the Tasman Sea. A weak low pressure trough will develop over South Australia on Wednesday, where it will persist on Thursday and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine apart from isolated showers northwest of Coober Pedy. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds. Mild about southern coasts, grading to warm to hot in the north.Tuesday 11 DecemberFine apart from isolated showers west of Coober Pedy to Fowlers Bay. Warm to hot, grading to very hot in the far northeast. Mainly moderate east to southeasterly winds, fresh about coasts and ranges.Wednesday 12 DecemberIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms about the ranges north of Clare and in the far North East Pastoral district east of Leigh Creek. Possible isolated showers elsewhere across the northern agricultural and pastoral districts, more likely west of Coober Pedy. Hot to very hot with moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 13 DecemberIsolated showers possible over most districts excluding the North East Pastoral, more likely west of Coober Pedy. Hot to very hot with moderate northerly winds.Friday 14 DecemberIsolated showers extending throughout, increasing to scattered showers over the agricultural area and far south of the Pastoral districts. Possible thunderstorms west of Woomera. Hot to very hot with moderate northerly winds, tending southerly about western coasts later. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 5 mm, although falls of 5 to 15 mm are possible with thunderstorms.Saturday until MondayScattered showers and possible thunderstorms will gradually clear from the northwest, easing to isolated showers and contracting to southern coasts by Sunday evening. Conditions will be fine throughout on Monday. Hot to very hot conditions initially, ahead of a milder, southerly change extending across the west and south on Saturday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
