MELBOURNE - Dec 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system to the southwest of Victoria will cross Tasmania tonight before moving slowly east across the Tasman Sea on Tuesday and Wednesday. Meanwhile a low pressure trough will develop over South Australia on Wednesday before deepening on Thursday and moving over western Victoria. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine. Mild to warm in the north, cooler in the south. A mostly sunny day with light to moderate southeasterly winds, freshening near the coast during the afternoon and evening and becoming locally strong near the central and Gippsland coasts.Fire Danger - High to very high.Tuesday 11 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Warm to hot inland with moderate easterly winds, milder near the coast with fresh afternoon seabreezes.Wednesday 12 DecemberFine. Warm to very warm and mostly sunny inland with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds. Milder near the coast with fresh afternoon seabreezes.Thursday 13 DecemberHigh cloud increasing from the west with isolated showers developing over western districts in the late morning and afternoon.
