Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred near New Zealand extends a weakening ridge to the far north coast of New South Wales. An inland trough stretches from northwest New South Wales through to central parts of the coast. This trough is expected to slow down and stall over the northeast late Sunday. The trough will move west during Monday and Tuesday and weaken as another high lies near Tasmania, and a ridge begins to develop along the coast.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the ranges, and northern coast and slopes, tending scattered in the northeast. The chance of showers over the southern parts of the coast. Northerly winds in the northeast, with a southerly change extending across the remainder.Monday 10 DecemberIsolated showers or thunderstorms in the northeast, extending to the northern and central inland during the day. Showers tending scattered near the north and central coast. The chance of showers on the south and central coasts, clearing during the morning. . Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeast winds, tending easterly in the northeast.Tuesday 11 DecemberScattered showers and thunderstorms on the north coast. Isolated showers on the remainder of the coast, tending to drizzle in the south in the evening. The chance of isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northern inland and far northwest. Partly cloudy elsewhere. East to southeast winds.Wednesday 12 DecemberMorning drizzle on the south coast and southern highlands, becoming isolated showers in the afternoon. Isolated showers along the remainder of the eastern ranges and coast. The chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far west. Mostly sunny elsewhere. East to southeast winds.Thursday 13 DecemberIsolated showers along the northern coast. Sunny elsewhere.
