Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 8/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the western Tasman Sea extends a weakening ridge to the far north coast of New South Wales. An inland trough stretches from the northwest New South Wales to the southeast and an associated cold front is moving along South Coast. This trough is expected to slow down and stall over the northeast later on Sunday. The trough will move west during Monday and Tuesday and weaken as another high moves east of Tasmania, strengthening a ridge to the north coast coast.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the ranges and slopes and central and northern coast, tending scattered in the northeast of the state. Isolated showers over the southern parts of the coast. The chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms over inland south this morning, with little if any rain reaching the ground. Northerly winds in the northeast, with a southerly change extending across the remainder.Fire Danger -  Very High: Greater Hunter, North Western, Northern Riverina, Southern Riverina.Monday 10 DecemberIsolated showers or thunderstorms in the northeast, extending to the northern inland during the day. The Chance of showers on the south and central coasts. Showers tending scattered near the north and central coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeast winds.Tuesday 11 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms on the north coast, extending to the northern inland during the day. Scattered showers on the north and central coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 12 DecemberThe chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the west. Isolated showers along the ranges and coast, and the northern inland. The chance of thunderstorms along the northern ranges and coast and central parts of the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
