MELBOURNE - Dec 8/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high will develop south of the Bight on Sunday, then move eastwards to be centred near Tasmania late Monday. A weak trough of low pressure will develop over the far west on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northwest and about the eastern border. Fresh southwesterly winds, strong at times about the northern Spencer Gulf coast. Possible raised dust inland.Sunday 9 DecemberAreas of cloud with possible isolated showers and possible morning thunder in the northwest. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Monday 10 DecemberFine apart from possible isolated showers in the far northwest. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds. Cool to mild about southern coasts, grading to hot in the north.Tuesday 11 DecemberFine apart from possible isolated showers in the far west. Mild to warm about the coasts, grading to very hot in the far northeast. Moderate east to southeasterly winds, fresh at times.Wednesday 12 DecemberIsolated showers west of about Ceduna and possible showers developing about the eastern border areas. Generally hot with southeasterly winds turning northeasterly in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon until midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, with possible falls of 5 to 10 mm with thunderstorms in the northwest.Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers extending over most of the state during Thursday then clearing from the far west on Friday.
