MELBOURNE - Dec 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the western Tasman Sea is moving slowly east maintaining a ridge to New South Wales north coast. On Saturday a low pressure trough will move through the southwestern half of the state before stalling over the northeast on Sunday. The trough will move west during Monday and Tuesday and weaken as another high moves east of Tasmania, strengthening a ridge to the north coast coast. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms on the north and central coasts and the adjacent ranges. The chance of late showers or thunderstorms over inland north and in the southwest. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds, freshening ahead of a late southerly change in the southwest.Fire Danger - Very High in the Southern Riverina.Sunday 9 DecemberIsolated showers or thunderstorms in the east contracting northeast. Mostly sunny in the west. Northerly winds in the northeast, with a southerly change extending across the remainder.Monday 10 DecemberIsolated showers or thunderstorms in the northeast. The Chance of showers on the south and central coasts. Showers tending scattered near the central coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeast winds.Tuesday 11 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms on the north coast, possibly extending to the northern inland. Scattered showers on the central coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
