MELBOURNE - Dec 5/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system just west of Victoria will cross the State to reach the Tasman Sea early Friday. A cold front will cross the Bight to reach western Victoria Saturday afternoon, crossing the remainder of the State by early Sunday morning. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine apart from isolated morning showers and drizzle in the south. Warm and mostly sunny in the north. Cooler in the south with cloud clearing during the afternoon. Light winds inland and moderate afternoon seabreezes near the coast.Fire Danger - Low to moderateFriday 7 DecemberPartly cloudy with isolated showers possible in the west. Warm to hot with light to moderate northerly winds, cooler near the coast with light to moderate afternoon seabreezes.Saturday 8 DecemberVery warm to hot with fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler, gusty southwesterly change developing in the southwest in the afternoon and extending to central districts during the evening. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developing ahead of the change, mainly near and south of the ranges, although remaining dry in the far east.Sunday 9 DecemberIsolated showers near and south of the ranges, clearing from the west. Isolated morning thunderstorms possible in the far east. Mild and mostly sunny in the north, cooler and partly cloudy in the south.
