MELBOURNE - Dec 5/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system near Adelaide extends a ridge into western New South Wales, directing a dry southwesterly airstream across the state. This high will remain the dominant synoptic feature in the region as it drifts eastwards over the next few days, promoting fine weather in most districts. By Friday it is expected to be over the Tasman Sea, bringing warmer northerly winds across the state. The next trough is forecast to cross during the weekend, although it appears likely that there will not be sufficient moisture in the air for it to generate significant rain. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPossible light shower or two in the far northeast, otherwise fine. Partly cloudy along the coast, sunny inland. Early frost areas on the southern ranges. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, southwest to southeast winds inland.Friday 7 DecemberThe chance of showers in the far northeast, otherwise fine and partly cloudy. Very warm to hot over the northern inland. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Saturday 8 DecemberPossible showers or thunderstorms in the northeast and over the southern inland later. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot in the west. Northwest to northeasterly winds, freshening ahead of a late southerly change in the southwest.Sunday 9 DecemberPossible showers or thunderstorms in the east. Fine in the west. Northerly winds in the northeast, with a southerly change extending across the remainder. The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDN10031 Notice Board Changes to state Weather and Warnings pages Media Releases Meteorological Offices Cobar weather Coffs Harbour weather Lord Howe Island weather Moree weather Norfolk Island weather Wagga Wagga weather Other Information Coastal Wind Warning Reference Points Severe Thunderstorms in New South Wales Severe Weather in New South Wales Air pollution services for Sydney About Weather Forecast Services About Warning Services Warnings Water Climate Environment Tropical Cyclones Tsunami Warning Centre Agriculture - Water and the Land Marine & Ocean UV & Sun Protection Rainfall & River Conditions Graphical Views Radar Maps Rainfall Forecasts Seasonal Outlooks Climate Variability & Change Climate Data Online Seasonal Streamflow Forecasts Water Storage Forecast Explorer™ National Weather Services Aviation Weather Services Defence Services Space Weather Services Registered User Services Commercial Weather Services Careers Sitemap Feedback Freedom of Information Indigenous Weather Knowledge Glossary This page was created at 21:45 on Wednesday 5 December 2012 (GMT) © Copyright Commonwealth of Australia 2012, Bureau of Meteorology (ABN 92 637 533 532) | Disclaimer | Privacy | Accessibility var hostname = window.location.hostname; var host = hostname.split("."); if (host[0] == "reg") var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-20386085-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); else if (host[0] == "www") var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-3816559-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); else if (host[0] == "wdev") var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-21709175-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?
