MELBOURNE - Dec 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high south of the Bight will move eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea on Friday. A front will move into the far west of the State late Friday evening, then extend eastwards over the State on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated light showers about southern coasts, contracting to the Lower South East coast during the day and then clearing by evening. Fine over the remainder. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north and west. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh near southern coasts this morning. Winds turning east to northeasterly in the west. Moderate to fresh afternoon sea breezes.Thursday 6 DecemberFine apart from isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing west of about Ernabella to Ceduna during the afternoon. Mild to warm over the agricultural area grading to hot in the north and west.Friday 7 DecemberPossible isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the agricultural area, Northwest Pastoral and West Coast district during the morning, persisting over areas west of Elliston to Ernabella in the afternoon. Generally warm to hot with moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, shifting fresh southwesterly in the far west late eveningSaturday 8 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms, gradually contracting eastwards during the day, to be confined to the far northeast of the State late evening. Hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a milder, fresh southwesterly change in the west extending eastwards during the day. Isolated showers persisting about far southern coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning until midnight Saturday are expected to be up to 2 mm, with possible falls of 5 to 10 mm with thunderstorms.Sunday until TuesdayFine apart from isolated showers near southern coasts on Sunday, and in the northwest of the State on Monday and Tuesday. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Chiefly moderate southwest to southeast winds.
