Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak low pressure trough over far northeastern New South Wales will move further northeast early today and weaken further as a high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge behind a cold front crossing the southern Tasman Sea. During Wednesday and Thursday the high will move east to be centred over the western Tasman Sea early Friday. The next trough is expected to move through the state during Saturday and Sunday and stall over the northeast on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, clearing during the morning. Isolated showers about the southern half of the coast and adjacent ranges with the chance of thunderstorms. Possible snow flurries about higher parts of the Alps during the evening. Fine and mostly sunny remainder. Cooler, fresh and gusty southwest to southeasterly winds throughout.Fire Danger -  Very High Greater Sydney; coast Illawarra & north; northern Ranges, Slopes, Plains Southern RiverinaWednesday 5 DecemberIsolated showers in the far southeast, mainly near the Victorian border. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh and gusty across the south.Thursday 6 DecemberThe chance of showers in the far northeast and on the far south coast. Partly cloudy along the coast. Mostly sunny inland. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast. Light and variable winds inland.Friday 7 DecemberThe chance of showers in the far northeast. Partly cloudy along the coast.
