MELBOURNE - Dec 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front is crossing Victoria and will reach the Tasman Sea early on Tuesday. A second cold front will cross Victoria overnight Tuesday. On Wednesday a high pressure system will reach the Bight before crossing Victoria during Thursday and reaching the Tasman Sea by Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers over the southwest, extending to remaining southern and mountain districts then increasing about the southwest and central coast later. Partly cloudy over the north. Light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 4 DecemberScattered showers near and south of the ranges with snow developing above 1300 metres. Isolated morning showers possible over the northwest. Isolated thunderstorms with possible hail near the coast. Cool with fresh to strong southwesterly winds.Fire Danger - High to very high.Wednesday 5 DecemberScattered showers near and south of the ranges becoming more isolated in the evening. Snow falls above 1300 metres, clearing later in the day. Partly cloudy over the northwest. Cool to mild with fresh to strong southwesterly winds easing later.Thursday 6 DecemberIsolated morning showers about the central and Gippsland coasts, otherwise fine. Warm inland with light winds tending northerly in the afternoon and high cloud increasing from the west. Cooler near the coast with moderate afternoon seabreezes.Friday 7 DecemberPartly cloudy with isolated showers possible in the west.
