Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high southwest of Perth extends a ridge of high pressure towards the Bight. A series of weak troughs on the eastern flank of this approaching high will move across the southeast today and tonight. The centre of the high will move eastwards this week and is expected to be south of the Bight late Tuesday, then over the Tasman Sea on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated light showers over the southern agricultural area, tending to scattered showers about southern coastal parts this evening. Cool to mild about southern coasts, warm in the far north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 4 DecemberIsolated light showers about the southern agricultural area contracting to the southern coasts by evening. Possible isolated light showers over the remainder of the agricultural areas and western coasts during the morning. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north.Wednesday 5 DecemberPossible isolated light showers about southern coasts, otherwise fine. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes, turning east to northeasterly in the west.Thursday 6 DecemberFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms developing west of about Ernabella to Ceduna during the afternoon. Mild to warm over agricultural areas grading to warm to hot in the north and west.Friday 7 December
Isolated thundery showers moving over the agricultural areas in the morning. Isolated showers and thunderstorms re-developing over the northwest Pastoral and West Coast districts during the afternoon. Generally warm to hot with moderate north to northwesterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon until midnight Friday are expected to be 2-5 mm about the southern coastal areas, with less than 2 mm elsewhere.
Saturday until MondayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms clearing to the north and east early in the weekend, while isolated showers persist about southern coasts through to Sunday evening. Fine across the State on Monday. Mostly hot initially with moderate to fresh northerly winds, but becoming cooler during the weekend following a moderate to fresh southerly wind change.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
