Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 2/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over northeastern New South Wales will move further northeast early Tuesday and weaken as a high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ride behind a cold front crossing the southern Tasman Sea. During Wednesday and Thursday the high will move east to be centred over the western Tasman Sea early Friday. The next trough is expected to move through the state during Saturday and Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, tending scattered over the ranges. Isolated late showers on the south coast. The chance of showers along the central coast and adjacent ranges in the morning. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coasts, and west to southwesterly winds inland.Fire Danger -  Very High: Northwest Slopes and Plains.Tuesday 4 DecemberIsolated showers about the southern half of the coast and adjacent ranges with the chance of thunderstorms. Possible snow flurries about higher parts of the Alps during the evening. Fine and mostly sunny remainder. Cooler, fresh and gusty southwest to southeasterly winds throughout.Wednesday 5 DecemberIsolated showers in the southeast, mainly near the Victorian border. Possible morning snow flurries about highest parts of the Alps. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh and gusty across the south.Thursday 6 DecemberThe chance of showers in the far northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast. Light and variable winds inland.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Monday.Product IDN10031
