Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 2/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high southwest of Perth extends a ridge of high pressure towards the Bight. A weak front on the eastern flank of this approaching high will move across the southeast later on Monday. The centre of the high will move eastwards this week and is expected to be south of the Bight late Tuesday, then over the Tasman Sea on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far north and northwest. Cool to mild. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 3 DecemberIsolated showers developing over the southern agricultural area during the day, tending scattered about southern coastal parts during the late afternoon and evening. Cool to mild about southern coasts, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 4 DecemberIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area contracting to the southern coasts by evening. Possible showers over the remainder of the agricultural areas and western coasts until mid-afternoon. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north.Wednesday 5 DecemberPossible isolated showers about southern coasts, otherwise fine. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes, turning east to northeasterly in the west.Thursday 6 DecemberFine apart from isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing west of about Ernabella to Ceduna. Mild to warm over agricultural areas grading to warm to hot in the north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday until midnight Thursday are expected to be 2-5 mm about the southern coastal areas, with less than 2 mm elsewhere.Friday until SundayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms extending over the State before contracting to southern coastal areas on Saturday. Isolated showers persisting about southern coasts on Sunday. Mostly hot initially with moderate to fresh northerly winds, but becoming cooler on the weekend following a southerly change.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
