Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 1/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is slowly moving east, maintaining a ridge to the northern New South Wales coast. This high is directing hot and humid northerly winds into a low pressure trough over the south of the state, generating unsettled conditions in many districts. During Sunday and Monday the trough will move to the northeast and weaken, before a cold front approaching from the southwest sweeps across the region on Tuesday. Behind this front the next high pressure system is forecast to cross the region during the second half of the week, accompanied by generally fine weather.
Forecast for the rest of SundayMostly sunny in the southwest. Isolated showers with the chance of thunderstorms elsewhere , contracting east-northeast. Hot and humid northerly winds ahead of a milder southwest to southeasterly in the west and southeast.Fire Danger -  Very High: Northwest Slopes and plains, Upper WesternMonday 3 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms about the northeast, tending scattered over the ranges. The chance of showers along the southern coast and adjacent ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to northwesterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 4 DecemberIsolated showers about the southern half of the coast and the chance of showers on the far north coast, mostly sunny remainder. Cooler, fresh and gusty, southwest to southeast winds extending throughout.Wednesday 5 DecemberIsolated showers in the southeast. Fine elsewhere.
