Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 1/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over the far northeast corner of the State will clear today. A ridge of high pressure extends over the Bight. The centre of the high is expected to reach the Bight late Tuesday. A weak front will move across the southeast on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the far north. Isolated light showers about coastal districts south of Adelaide clearing in the afternoon. Mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 3 DecemberIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area tending scattered about the Lower South East during the afternoon and evening. Cool to mild about southern coasts, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Tuesday 4 DecemberIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area contracting to the Lower South East coast by evening. Possible showers over the remainder or the agricultural areas and western coasts clearing during the afternoon. Moderate southwest to southeast winds. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north.Wednesday 5 DecemberPossible isolated showers about southern coastal areas, otherwise fine. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the north with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds tending east to northeast in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday until midnight Wednesday are expected to be 2-5 mm in the north with possible local falls of 5-15 mm with thunderstorms, less than 2 mm with showers in the south, increasing to 2-5mm in the far southeast.Thursday until SaturdayAreas of cloud and possible showers gradually extending over western parts of the State, reaching central and eastern districts on Friday then contracting to southern coastal areas by Saturday. Generally hot becoming cooler on Saturday. Moderate northerly winds ahead of a southerly change extending from the west on Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
