Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A broad trough of low pressure covers Victoria and will move slowly eastwards on Saturday, clearing the State by Sunday morning. A cold front will move across Tasmania on Saturday, clipping Victoria as it heads towards the Tasman Sea. A ridge of high pressure over the Bight will extend across northern Victoria on Sunday, then another cold front will cross southern Victoria later Monday and early Tuesday. A high pressure system will develop over the Bight during Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers and thunderstorms over the north and east. Isolated showers and thunderstorms clearing from southwestern and central districts by the afternoon. Mild to warm with moderate west to southwesterly winds extending throughout. Humidity decreasing from the west during the day.Fire Danger -  Moderate to High.Sunday 2 DecemberIsolated showers possible over southern and mountain districts. Fine over the north. Cool to mild in the south and a little warmer north of the divide with moderate southwest to southerly winds.Monday 3 DecemberIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, increasing about the southwest coast late in the day. Fine over the north. Cool to mild in the south and a little warmer north of the divide with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.Tuesday 4 DecemberScattered showers in southern and mountain area with snow possible above 1400 metres. Fine over the northern plains. Cool to mild with fresh southwesterly winds, strong near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Saturday.Product IDV10310
