MELBOURNE - Nov 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is slowly moving east maintaining a ridge to New South Wales north coast and directing hot and humid northerly winds into a low pressure trough over the south of the state. Later on Sunday the trough will move over the northeast and weaken. Another high pressure system will move south of the Bight later today extending a ridge behind the trough and directing milder southerly winds. This high is expected to be centred over Tasman Sea by Friday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayPartly cloudy in the northeast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, tending scattered in the south. Hot to very hot north to northwest winds turning milder southerly in the south.Fire Danger - Very high: Sydney, Hunter, Central Ranges, Northern Slopes, North Western and Central West PlainsSunday 2 DecemberPartly cloudy in the southwest. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, tending scattered about the central ranges and in the northeast. Hot northerly winds in the northeast, milder southwest to southeasterly winds in the remainder.Monday 3 DecemberShowers and thunderstorms about the northeast and the chance of showers along the southern coast. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to northwest winds and coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 4 DecemberIsolated showers about the southern half of the coast and the chance of showers on the far north coast, mostly sunny remainder.
