MELBOURNE - Nov 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A slow-moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is directing hot and humid northerly winds into a weak low pressure trough over western New South Wales. This trough and an associated cooler southerly change is expected to move slowly across the state over the weekend, reaching the northeast late on Sunday. Hot conditions are expected to continue ahead of the trough. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms across the southern and central districts and about the northern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot inland, humid along the coast. Northeast to northwesterly winds.Saturday 1 DecemberPartly cloudy in the northeast. Isolated showers with the chance of thunderstorms elsewhere, tending scattered in the south where thunderstorms are likely. Hot to very hot in the north. North to northwest winds turning milder southerly in the south and west.Fire Danger - Very high: Sydney, Hunter, Central Ranges, Northern Slopes, North Western and Central West PlainsSunday 2 DecemberPartly cloudy in the southwest.
