Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure near Coober Pedy to Lameroo will remain stationary today then move northeastwards on Saturday to reach the far northeast corner of the State in the evening. A ridge of high pressure will extend over the Bight on the weekend and a weak front will move across the southeast on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms, tending scattered in the north and east this afternoon and early evening. Warm about southern and western coasts, grading to hot to very hot inland. Fine over the far northeast and southwest of Ceduna to Port Lincoln. Moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds, tending southerly in the west and south.Saturday 1 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms northeast of about Coober Pedy to Adelaide to Mount Gambier, tending scattered in the northeast. Possible isolated light showers about southern coasts. Mild in the south, grading to very hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh northerly winds in the far northeast during the day. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds over the remainder, extending throughout by evening.Sunday 2 DecemberIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the far northeast. Isolated light showers about coastal districts south of Adelaide. Mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 3 DecemberIsolated showers over the southern coastal districts, south of about Adelaide. Showers increasing to scattered about the Lower Southeast during the afternoon and evening. Cool to mild about southern coasts, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Tuesday 4 DecemberIsolated light showers about the coasts, clearing by Tuesday evening. Possible showers developing over the far northwest during the day. Moderate southwest to southeast winds. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2-5 mm with local falls of 10-20 mm with thunderstorms.Wednesday until FridayAreas of cloud and possible showers gradually extending over northern and western parts of the State, reaching central and eastern districts on Friday. Moderate southeast to northeast winds, freshening ahead of a southerly change extending from the west on Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
