MELBOURNE - Nov 29/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure crossing the State will reach northeast Victoria this afternoon before clearing to the east. A cold front will move across Tasmania on Saturday, clipping Victoria as it heads towards the Tasman Sea. A ridge of high pressure over the Bight will extend across northern Victoria on Sunday, then another cold front will cross southern Victoria later Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayPatchy rain and isolated thunderstorms extending throughout during the day and increasing across the southwest during the afternoon. Hot over the northeast, but generally milder elsewhere. Variable winds inland and fresh seabreezes developing along the coast during the afternoon.Fire Danger - High in the east.Saturday 1 DecemberRain areas and isolated thunderstorms contracting to the northeast during the day. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds turning southwesterly.Sunday 2 DecemberIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts. Dry over the north. Cool to mild in the south and a little warmer north of the divide with moderate southwest to southerly winds.Monday 3 DecemberIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, increasing about the southwest coast late in the day. Dry over the north.
