Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 29/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure through central and northern parts of the State will move northeastwards overnight then remain near stationary across the North West Pastoral, Mid North, and Murray Mallee regions on Friday. The trough will then move northeastwards on Saturday and Sunday as a high pressure system develops over the Bight. The high will then move slowly east to be centred over the southeast of the State by Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms extending eastwards during the day, with thunderstorms increasing to scattered in the northwest during the afternoon. Very hot with fresh to strong northwest to westerly winds ahead of a milder moderate to fresh west to southwesterly change. Areas of raised dust developing ahead of the change over northern parts of the State.Friday 30 NovemberFine over the far northeast and southwest of about Ceduna to Kingscote. Isolated showers and thunderstorm elsewhere, tending scattered in the north and east. Warm about southern and western coasts, grading to hot to very hot inland. Moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds, tending southerly in the west and south.Saturday 1 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms northeast of about Coober Pedy to Mount Gambier, tending scattered in the northeast. Possible isolated showers about southern coasts. Mild in the south, grading to very hot in the far northeast.Sunday 2 DecemberIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the far northeast. Isolated showers about southern coasts. Mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 3 DecemberIsolated showers over the southern coastal districts, south of about Adelaide. Cool to mild about southern coasts, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday until midnight Monday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm east of Ceduna with local falls of 10-20 mm with thunderstorms. Less than 2 mm over the remainder.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers about the coasts, clearing by Tuesday evening. Isolated showers developing over the far west, gradually extending over far northern and western agricultural districts on Wednesday and Thursday. Moderate southwest to southeast winds, becoming southeast to northeast late in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
