MELBOURNE - Nov 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A slow-moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is directing hot and humid winds into a broad low pressure trough over western New South Wales. During Thursday the trough will move to the northeast and weaken as another trough approaches the state from the southwest. The latter trough is expected to move across most districts during Friday before stalling over the northeast on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the ranges, and the chance of showers near the coast, more likely in the north. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot to very hot inland. Northwest to northeast winds.Friday 30 NovemberShowers or patchy rain across the southern half, mainly near the Victorian border, with the chance of thunderstorms. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot to very hot. Northeast to northwesterly winds.Saturday 1 DecemberPartly cloudy in the northeast. Isolated showers showers with the chance of thunderstorms elsewhere. Hot to very hot north to northwest winds turning milder southerly in the south.Sunday 2 DecemberPartly cloudy in the southwest. Isolated showers with the chance of thunderstorms elsewhere.
