Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high located over Tasmania will move to the Tasman Sea today. A deepening low west of Perth is forecast to move well to the south of the State later this week. A trough associated with this low will move across South Australia on Thursday and Friday. Another high is expected to move south of the Bight late in the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPatchy early morning fog about coastal areas. Isolated showers and thunderstorms this afternoon northeast of about Oodnadatta to Broken Hill, along the northern border and also west of about Ernabella to Fowlers Bay. Hot to very hot and humid with mainly light to moderate winds and afternoon sea breezes. Winds becoming moderate to fresh northerly in the west.Thursday 29 NovemberHot to very hot with isolated showers and thunderstorms gradually extending from the west, possibly reaching the eastern border by late evening. Showers increasing to areas of rain over the southern agricultural area during the evening. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, turning west to northwesterly in the west and south during the day.Friday 30 NovemberShowers and thunderstorms, with areas of rain in the south, extending across the State during the early morning then contracting northeast of about Coober Pedy to Adelaide during the afternoon and evening. Hot to very hot ahead of the rain in the moderate to fresh northerly winds, milder southerly winds developing about coastal districts.Saturday 1 DecemberShowers and thunderstorms northeast of about Coober Pedy to Bordertown contracting to the North East Pastoral district in the evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning until midnight Saturday are expected to be between 5 and 15 mm generally across the State, increasing to local falls of 20 to 40 mm with thunderstorms.Sunday until TuesdayPossible showers about southern coasts and over the far north. Hot in the far north, mild to warm elsewhere. Generally moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
