Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 27/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high south of Adelaide will move slowly eastwards to be located over the Tasman Sea by Wednesday. A broad area of low pressure will persist over inland parts of South Australia until Wednesday. A deep low will pass well to the south on Thursday and Friday as new ridge develops to the west.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms clearing from the eastern border areas at first this morning. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms redeveloping over the northeast pastoral district, and possibly in the far northwest corner of the State, during the afternoon. Warm to hot in the south, hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast winds, fresh about the coasts, tending northerly in the north.Wednesday 28 NovemberPossible thundery showers in the far north. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing about the western border during the afternoon and evening. Hot to very hot with mainly light winds and moderate afternoon sea breezes. Winds becoming moderate to fresh northerly in the west.Thursday 29 NovemberHot to very hot with isolated showers and thunderstorms extending from the west, possibly reaching the eastern border by late evening. Showers increasing to scattered in the west during the afternoon with areas of rain developing during the evening. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, turning northwesterly in the west and south during the day.Friday 30 NovemberShowers and thunderstorms with areas of rain extending across the State during the early morning then contracting northeast of about Coober Pedy to Adelaide during the afternoon and evening. Hot to very hot ahead of the rain in the moderate to fresh northerly winds, milder southerly winds developing about coastal districts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday until midnight Friday are expected to be between 5 and 15 mm generally across the State, increasing to local falls of 20 to 40 mm with thunderstorms. Less than 5 mm is expected in the far northeast.Saturday until MondayShower and thunderstorm activity contracting to the Northeast Pastoral, Flinders and Riverland districts on Saturday then to the far north on Sunday and Monday. Very hot to hot in the north. Milder southwesterly airstream will bring possible showers to coasts south of about Kangaroo Island.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
