MELBOURNE - Nov 26/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high south of the Bight will move slowly eastwards to be located over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. A broad area of low pressure will persist over inland parts of South Australia until Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated thundery showers extending over the southern parts of the State this morning before clearing from the West Coast and adjacent areas during the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the Northwest Pastoral, extending east this afternoon and evening, except the far northeast. Mild to warm about coastal districts, remaining hot to very hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds extending throughout.Tuesday 27 NovemberPossible thundery showers northeast of about Coober Pedy to Adelaide, contracting to the north and northeast during the day. Warm to hot in the south, hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast winds, fresh about the coasts, tending northerly in the north.Wednesday 28 NovemberPossible thundery showers clearing from the northeast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing about the western border before extending over areas west of about Fowlers Bay to Marla. Hot to very hot with mainly light winds, tending northerly throughout.Thursday 29 NovemberHot to very hot with showers and thunderstorms extending from the west, possibly reaching the eastern border by the end of the day. Moderate to fresh northerly winds turning northwest to westerly in the west later. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning until midnight Thursday are expected to be highly variable due to the unsettled nature of the atmosphere this week, possibly up to 5 mm with higher falls of 5 to 10 mm with thunderstorms,.Friday until SundayShowers and thunderstorms consolidating into a band of rain and thunderstorms as they move across South Australia before contracting to the northeast late in the period.
