Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 25/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A persistent high in the Tasman Sea directs hot to very hot and humid north to northeasterly winds into a low pressure trough over New South Wales. These conditions are expected to continue through until the end of the week, bringing warm nights and hot to very hot days to much of New South Wales, particularly to those locations west of the Divide. Afternoon thunderstorms and showers are also likely over much of eastern New South Wales over the next few days in this hot and humid airmass.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, extending to parts of the central and southern ranges in the afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northeasterly winds near the coast, with a late southerly change in the south. Light and variable winds inland.Monday 26 NovemberVery hot conditions in the west. Isolated showers and thunderstorms on and east of the ranges developing during the morning, becoming more widespread during the afternoon. Cloudy with the chance of thunder in the west, although little if any rain expected. Northeast to northwesterly winds, before a southerly change in the south.Tuesday 27 NovemberVery hot conditions in the west. Showers over the eastern half, mainly about the coast and ranges, with isolated thunderstorms. Cloudy with the chance of thunder in the west, although little if any rain expected. Northerly winds in the north. Southerly winds in the south.Wednesday 28 NovemberVery hot conditions in the west. Showers over the eastern half, mainly about the coast and ranges, with isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Northerly winds.Thursday 29 NovemberVery hot.
