Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 24/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high is developing south of the Bight and will move slowly eastwards to be located over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. A broad area of low pressure will persist over northern parts of South Australia until Wednesday producing a series of troughs that will move across the State at various times during this period.
Forecast for the rest of SundayAreas of high cloud with possible isolated showers extending eastwards over areas west of about Woomera to Adelaide, with possible thunder north and west of Eyre Peninsula. Warm to hot in the south, very hot in the north. Moderate southeast to northeast winds, turning moderate to fresh northerly in the northwest. A fresh and gusty southerly change will develop about coastal districts during the afternoon then extend inland during the evening.Monday 26 NovemberCloudy with possible isolated thundery showers extending over the State, except the far northeast, before clearing from the West Coast and adjacent areas during the afternoon and evening. Mild to warm about coastal districts, remaining hot to very hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds extending throughout.Tuesday 27 NovemberPossible thundery showers northeast of about Coober Pedy to Adelaide, clearing to the north and northeast during the day. Warm to hot with light to moderate northeast to southeast winds, fresh about the coasts.Wednesday 28 November
Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing about the western border before extending eastwards over parts of the West Coast and Northwest Pastoral districts, possibly reaching areas west of about Leigh Creek and Spencer Gulf by late evening. Hot to very hot with mainly light winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning until midnight Wednesday are expected to be highly variable, possibly up to 5 mm. Isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm with thunderstorms.
Thursday until SaturdayHot to very hot with showers and thunderstorms extending throughout the State before contracting to the eastern parts of South Australia by the weekend. Light to moderate northerly winds shifting cooler, moderate to fresh southwest to southerly later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
